And the fondant was so heavy, that cutting the cake was a challenge. Each piece fell apart after being cut. I think it's because there was too much filling and frosting, so the cake part in the slice itself couldn't support the weight.
However, the buttercream used to decorate the cake is so so so so sweet, it was difficult to eat more than 3 bites. It made if harder to enjoy the cake.
Went to place an order for a custom cake and was advised that I should consider placing an order online. (Yes, I was standing in the shop. But left to check out cakes ONLINE since they got rid of their catalogs.) Came back another day, again, to attempt to place this order in person, figuring we all have bad days, and my cake request was for a large event. Plus, I've been using the bakery shop for years. A different employee told me to wait at the front desk to get details about my order, I had yet to place. I waited to watch multiple customers come and go. I eventually walked out after TWO employees saw me waiting and continued to go about their business. I emailed the shop regarding my experience. The reply was...."i'll be happy to take your order now". Really? Never going back!
Best bakery in Southwest suburbs. Very creative and excellent bakery. Haven't tried anything I don't like! Terrific cinnamon bread, cheesecake, macarons. Truffle cake is a chocolate lovers dream!
I went to order a wedding cake here. The staff seemed friendly when they finally helped me. The cake itself was good (not the best but good) however they lost my cake on the wedding day! They couldn't find it after I had paid for it earlier that morning. When they did find it the topper was not on the cake! They requested I drop it off a week before hand. I do not live close so it was a waste of time for it to not even be on the cake after I picked it up! I would expect more organization from them.
But, it looked nice, tasted nice(aside from the buttercream), was made on time, and staff was friendly during consultation and pickup. The two complaints aren't major because, in the end, people still enjoyed the cake. I'm only mentioning them for feedback purposes.
Custom cake. Can bring any photo and/or idea and they can create it, if not better. Moist cake 4 days after party. Highly recommend. Best cake place in Ohio. Even celebrities from California come here for cakes. The service is fast and awesome. The workers are beyond nice.
The cake looked just like ordered, it was well baked, and the fillings in the two tiers were yummy.
